Knoxville Wedding Photographers
Daniel + Martha Howell. Who are we?

We're a husband and wife team who loves to photograph the emotions of weddings, make friends with our clients, and have fun working.

We could live at Starbucks, although Daniel prefers black coffee and Martha likes "girly" drinks like Frappuccinos. We both love listening to the musical genius that is Harry Connick Jr. Our favorite vacation spot is the Big Easy - every time we leave, we know what it means to miss New Orleans. We call Sweetwater home and are happy to be here; it reminds us of where we grew up. Our little family consists of us and two adorable dogs.

Enjoy our blog and checking out our newest work and learning about us in the meantime!

We're Moving Soon!

Although our upcoming move to the Knoxville/Chattanooga area is still a few months out, we're starting to gear up for the exciting changes to come! (One such is the proposed plan to open a full service photography studio - wooohooo!)

Right now, I am taking bookings for the East Tennessee area for events occurring after May 2008 - so, brides in Knoxville/Chattanooga/Surrounding areas, you no longer have to worry about travel fees.

Of course, I am still booking Nashville area weddings for no travel fee through June 2008 - and I'll also travel to the Nashville area for weddings after June for a small travel fee.

Tell everyone you know in the East TN area to get in contact with us to set up summer or senior portrait sessions, or even consultations for weddings!

Valentine's Day Specials

We hope all of you are doing well this new year - Enjoy these pictures that Daniel took of both of us (yes, it was a little tricky for him to be in the photographs and be the photographer, but as you can see, they turned out fabulous!).

I just wanted to take a minute to update you with the latest. We're currently offering Valentine's Day sessions for all of those lovebirds out there. If you don't have a loved one to take pictures with, then don't feel left out! We'll just call it a portrait session ;-)

The session starts at $50 for low key Black and White studio portrait work, and extends up from there to for the standard session. As usual Daniel will pull out all the stops and give you something truly special.

If you are interested, please contact Daniel or you can call us at:931.217.7735 And if you still haven't been, go check out the new and improved website at:

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to Chicago... well it was in December. I'm a little late getting to this.

BRIDES TO BE: Obviously we do travel for destination weddings. However, if any local brides are going on vacation before your wedding, how amazing would it be to have your engagement session at your vacation destination, such as Chicago, South Carolina, Florida? Contact us to make arrangements. As you're looking at some of these images below, picture you and your fiance in these unique surroundings.

There was no shortage of snow... our landing at Midway was more of a skid and go than anything.
Where does it end....
I liked the contrast between the tree, the old church, and the Hancock building. It's kind of like the original tall structure, followed by an earlier man-made structure, followed by an incredibly tall man-made structure. What do you see in this one?

This is "one legged Bob". No, this is not Photoshop trickery. This pigeon only has one leg! A kind homeless man told me that a couple years ago (I'm not sure how he knows the life story of this particular pigeon) the poor bird's leg was frostbitten and fell off. Or at least that's what he said...

Carla and Danny's Wedding

Here are some of my favorites from Carla and Danny's Wedding:

For late December the weather was great!

The flower girl was adorable - she wanted to stop and talk to everyone.

The men of Phi Mu Alpha singing to the bride.

Carla and Danny were another fabulous couple to work with, as were their wedding party and families. As they open a new chapter in their life we wish them all the happiness in the world.
