Knoxville Wedding Photographers
Daniel + Martha Howell. Who are we?

We're a husband and wife team who loves to photograph the emotions of weddings, make friends with our clients, and have fun working.

We could live at Starbucks, although Daniel prefers black coffee and Martha likes "girly" drinks like Frappuccinos. We both love listening to the musical genius that is Harry Connick Jr. Our favorite vacation spot is the Big Easy - every time we leave, we know what it means to miss New Orleans. We call Sweetwater home and are happy to be here; it reminds us of where we grew up. Our little family consists of us and two adorable dogs.

Enjoy our blog and checking out our newest work and learning about us in the meantime!

Erin and Bret E-Session

Today I had the privilege of traveling to Dickson, TN to do a session with Erin and Bret. The plan had originally been to meet at the Renaissances Center and then go to the downtown area. Instead, the weather made the decision for us and we did the entire session inside the center. It was TONS of fun! Erin and Bret are both actors working at the center so I tried to tailor the session to fit their lifestyle. They were amazing to work with and made my job way too easy. They simply let me work out my creative vision with some of the more avant-garde images. They also did a very good job doing the one thing that is most important to a good session - being themselves.

I hope that Erin and Bret had as much fun as I did. I look forward to their wedding in June! Here are just a few of the nearly 60 images that make up their e-session. Enjoy!

Sarah Bullock's Senior Recital

Sarah is one of my friends from Austin Peay. She recently had her senior recital (she's a music major) and really wanted some pictures. So, I obliged! I felt that this especially could be a challenging but rewarding experience. I set about trying to capturing the events leading up to and after the recital itself. After all, one of the most important things about this event is having friends and family around for the accomplishment.

Congratulations, Sarah! It was a wonderful concert!

Gardner Birthday Party

This surprise birthday party for Mr. Gardner was a LOT of fun. I think I'll let the images speak for themselves on this one.

"Different" E-Session Images

Do you want "different" e-session (engagement session) images? If so, we'd love to meet you during our travels to Gulf Shores & New Orleans this May.

This would be a great opportunity to take a pre-wedding trip to relax, have fun, and enjoy a unique photo shoot!

Let us know if you would like to meet us in either locations and we can give you more info. How fun would it be to stroll through the
French Quarter or leisurely walk on the beach of
Gulf Shores in your e-session images?

Let us know as soon as possible if you're interested!

Ben and Christy's E-Session

I've known Ben and Christy for a while now (from college) and never thought I would have the chance to shoot their wedding. I had another booking the day that they had chosen. Due to some rather sad circumstances (the groom for the other wedding passed away) we came available on their day. As a side note, our thoughts continue to be with the bride-to-be and the grooms family in their loss.

On a much lighter note, this session was fun! I had taken pictures of Ben and Christy before, so we worked very well together (another reason to have an engagement session). We spend a couple hours in downtown Knoxville walking, talking, and climbing trees! Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Christy's Bridal Session

I had lots of fun with Christy during this session. We spend some time at the church where she and Ben are going to be married, then we went to the Fountain City "duck pond" and finally ended in downtown K-town. Did I mention it was four hours?

That's the fun in the bridal session... you get to spend real time taking pictures with the dress on. Pictures the day of can be tedious and only allow you to get a few "posed" or creative images. Christy will be getting about 40 different "bridal" images... just because we were able to spend the time.

You can click on the picture to go to the gallery that has her pictures. Christy was kind enough let me post some of her bridal pictures (after Ben agreed to not look). Ben... turn away... NOW!

Cheryl

Cheryl contacted Daniel to do a portrait/lifestyle session for images to include in her Austin Peay graduation invitations. We've been friends with Cheryl for about a year now, and knew that being around her just makes you smile, therefore a photo session would be a blast.

Part I of the Session focused strictly on Cheryl, in all her glory. Here are some of our favs:

Part II of Cheryl's session included some of her close friends and a little goofier side of Cheryl:

It is all about you, you, you, Cheryl.

Cheryl: "Hey, I have an idea! Daniel, why don't you go stand in the rain and take a picture of me inside the building!"

Sorry Cheryl, Daniel just couldn't abide with that request, maybe next time! :)

We wish Cheryl, and all the other Austin Peay graduates the best of luck!
