Knoxville Wedding Photographers
Daniel + Martha Howell. Who are we?

We're a husband and wife team who loves to photograph the emotions of weddings, make friends with our clients, and have fun working.

We could live at Starbucks, although Daniel prefers black coffee and Martha likes "girly" drinks like Frappuccinos. We both love listening to the musical genius that is Harry Connick Jr. Our favorite vacation spot is the Big Easy - every time we leave, we know what it means to miss New Orleans. We call Sweetwater home and are happy to be here; it reminds us of where we grew up. Our little family consists of us and two adorable dogs.

Enjoy our blog and checking out our newest work and learning about us in the meantime!

Kari and Justin... A Sneak Peek

We're pretty used to weddings (especially wedding pictures) by now, so I [Martha] usually don't get emotional during them or when looking at a couple's pictures. HOWEVER, Kari & Justin's wedding must be an exception to the rule, because not only did I tear up during their wedding ceremony, but also while editing their gorgeous, emotional images. I hope you all enjoy this sneak peek of Kari & Justin's wedding --- all of their images should be up and ready in 3-4 weeks.

Also, I'd like to point out that the following are an EXCELLENT example of the photojournalistic nature of our wedding coverage. Not one, not a SINGLE one was posed to the point of saying "do this or do that". In two of the following images, we did place them where we wanted them to be, but their reactions, their faces, and the emotion was purely them, and then we simply captured what followed. For example...

ALMOST...! Kari requested this shot before their ceremony. They would not see each other until she walked down the aisle, but (as shown here) they held hands on opposite sides of the door before the ceremony.

All eyes were on the beautiful bride walking down the aisle (even the ring bearer peered around Justin so he could get a peek!)

One last kiss from Mom before wedding. Kari, her mom, and her sister are extremely close -- they were touching to watch throughout the day!

This one, too -- of their first dance together as husband and wife.

Do you think Kari was thinking, "I'm gonna get you?" :) Well, she sure did get him!

That first shot made me a little emotional too! It's such a sweet moment. So close to touch one another but filled with sweet anticipation of the moments that are about to come. A gentle reminder of what the day is all about. You captured it brilliantly.

I just adore the idea of this couple indulging in 'touching' one anothers hands for encouragement and support, but not succumbing to the temptaion of seeing one another before their ceremony.... and spoiling that lovely anticipation and surprise. What a way to heighten your emotional senses JUST before taking your vows! Beautiful coverage.... oooh and what a beautiful bride. She is just radiant!!!!

Gotta love the expression on the groom's face when the bride is walking down the isle. The little ringbearer peering from behind the groom is adorable.
